Introduction

Duration: 10 - 15 minutes

The purpose of this stage is to ensure that students have a clear and detailed understanding of the central theme of the lesson. This prior understanding will allow them to make a connection between theoretical knowledge and its practical applications, facilitating the execution of subsequent activities and the integration of learning into modern and digital life.

Warming Up

To start the lesson on futsal, briefly explain that futsal is a sports modality played indoors, similar to soccer, but with its own rules and dynamics that provide a faster and more technical game. Ask students to use their phones to find an interesting fact about futsal, such as historical curiosities, unusual rules, or information about important championships. Then, ask them to share these facts with the class.

Initial Reflections

1. What is the fundamental difference between futsal and traditional soccer?

2. What are the basic futsal rules that stand out to you?

3. Did you discover any surprising curiosities about the history of futsal?

4. What are the main futsal championships you know?

5. How can the use of social media influence the popularity of futsal today?

Development

Duration: 70 - 80 minutes

The purpose of this stage is to allow students to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired about futsal in practical and interactive activities, using digital technologies. In this way, they become the protagonists of their learning while developing research, organization, creativity, and teamwork skills.

Activity Suggestions

It is recommended that only one of the suggested activities be carried out

Activity 1 - Creating Storytelling on Instagram: The Journey of a Futsal Player

> Duration: 60 - 70 minutes

- Objective: Familiarize students with the rules, characteristics, and history of futsal in a creative and interactive way, using social media as a teaching tool.

- Description: Students will create an Instagram story narrating the journey of a futsal player, from their first steps in the sport to their participation in a significant championship. The story should include posts, short videos, polls, and narratives that explain the characteristics, rules, and curiosities about the sport.

- Instructions:

  • Divide students into groups of no more than 5 people.

  • Each group must create a temporary Instagram account or use the school's project account.

  • Students should plan the journey of a fictional futsal player, including key moments such as learning the rules, training, important matches, and participation in championships.

  • Ask groups to create a series of posts, short videos (up to 1 minute), polls about rules and curiosities of futsal, and other creative interactions.

  • Groups should post the content on Instagram, using relevant hashtags and tagging fictional or real locations and events.

  • At the end, ask each group to present their Instagram account to the class, explaining the narrative created and the choices made regarding futsal content.

Activity 2 - Futsal Championship Simulation: Management and Organization

> Duration: 60 - 70 minutes

- Objective: Develop organizational, planning, and digital tool usage skills while deepening knowledge about futsal championships.

- Description: Students will undertake the task of organizing and simulating a futsal championship, using digital tools for championship management. They must create fictional teams, develop match schedules, plan logistics, and promote the event online.

- Instructions:

  • Divide students into groups of no more than 5 people.

  • Each group must choose digital tools to plan and organize the championship, such as online spreadsheets, graphic design tools, and promotion platforms.

  • Groups should create fictional teams with names, logos, and uniforms (they can use digital design tools).

  • Create match schedules, tournament phases, and rules for the competition.

  • Plan the logistics of the championship, including match locations, times, and referees (even if fictional).

  • Promote the championship by creating pages on social media, posting information about matches, teams, players, and futsal curiosities.

  • Each group must present the championship planning to the class, explaining their choices and the importance of each element in organizing a futsal event.

Activity 3 - Gamification: Interactive Quiz on Futsal Rules and History

> Duration: 60 - 70 minutes

- Objective: Encourage collaborative and interactive learning about futsal, using gamification tools to make the learning process more dynamic and engaging.

- Description: Students will develop an interactive quiz using gamification tools like Kahoot!. The quiz should contain questions related to the rules, characteristics, and history of futsal, as well as curiosities about the championships.

- Instructions:

  • Divide students into groups of no more than 5 people.

  • Each group should use a quiz creation tool, such as Kahoot!, to develop an interactive quiz about futsal.

  • Ask groups to research and formulate questions about the rules, history, characteristics of futsal, and curiosities about the championships.

  • Groups should include a variety of question types such as multiple choice, true or false, and matching questions.

  • After creation, each group should share their quiz with the class, and every group should play the quizzes created by the others.

  • At the end, groups should discuss and reflect on the most challenging questions and what they learned from the activity.

Feedback

Duration: (15 - 20 minutes)

Purpose: The purpose of this stage is to promote critical reflection on the knowledge acquired and skills developed during the activities. Through sharing experiences and constructive feedback, students can identify their strengths and areas for improvement, as well as consolidate their learning in a collaborative manner integrated with the use of digital tools.

Group Discussion

Group Discussion: Start the discussion by asking each group to share their experiences with the activities carried out. Suggest they address the following points: What were the main challenges faced during the creation of posts on Instagram or in organizing the championship? How did teamwork help (or hinder) the completion of the activities? What new knowledge about futsal was acquired? How did digital tools facilitate learning?

After each group presents, open the floor for questions and comments from other students, encouraging a rich and collaborative exchange of ideas.

Reflections

1.Reflection Questions: How did the use of social media and digital tools influence your learning about futsal? 2. What was the most fun and the most challenging part of the proposed activities? 3. In what way do you believe that these practical activities can be applied in other disciplines or real-life situations?

360° Feedback

360° Feedback: Explain to students the importance of constructive feedback and how it can be a tool for personal and academic growth. Instruct them to follow the basic rules of good feedback, which include: Be specific: Emphasize specific behaviors observed. Be respectful: Maintain a positive and respectful tone. Be helpful: Provide practical improvement suggestions.

Each student should receive feedback from group peers about their contribution to the activities, what they did well, and what could be improved. This can be done orally or through small anonymous feedback slips.

Conclusion

Duration: (10 - 15 minutes)

Purpose: The purpose of this stage is to consolidate the knowledge acquired in a playful and reflective way, connecting theory to practice and allowing students to understand the relevance of futsal not only as a sport but as an integral part of digital culture and everyday life. ✨
