Activity Title: "My Family Tree" (Minha Árvore Genealógica)
Project Objective
The objective of this project is for you, in groups, to create a family tree (a kind of family map) and, at the same time, learn and practice the vocabulary of the family nucleus in English.
Detailed Project Description
Each group will have to create a family tree, drawing and writing the names of family members in English. You will also have to describe each family member, highlighting their characteristics and interests. For this, you will interview your family members, practicing the use of the vocabulary learned.
Necessary Materials
- Large paper (cardboard, kraft paper, etc.)
- Colored pens
- Ruler
- English-Portuguese dictionary (if necessary)
Detailed Step-by-Step for Carrying Out the Activity

Group Formation and Role Definition: Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each student will have a role: artist, writer, interviewer, and materials organizer. You can choose who will do each task.

Vocabulary Research and Practice: Using the dictionary, find the English words for the family members you will include in the family tree. Practice the pronunciation and use of the words in English in simple sentences.

Family Interview: Each group must interview a family member. Ask about the life, interests, and characteristics of each family member. Take notes of the information to use in the family tree.

Creation of the Family Tree: Draw the family tree on the large paper. Start with yourselves in the center and add the family members. Use the colored pen to differentiate the branches of the tree. Don't forget to write the names in English to practice the vocabulary!

Description of Family Members: Around each name on the family tree, write a few sentences describing the family member. Use the interview information to create the descriptions.

Project Presentation: Each group will present their family tree to the class. During the presentation, explain what you learned about the family nucleus vocabulary in English and share about the experience of interviewing a family member.
Delivery Format
The project must be delivered in the form of the "Family Tree of My Family" drawn on the large paper, with names and descriptions in English.
