Imagine that, a long time ago, in a small town where Brazil is located today, people needed to travel long distances to find other products that were not available nearby, such as colorful fabrics, different spices, or special tools. To make these trips, they mainly used the rivers, which were like big water roads, and also trails in the forest. Think about the changes that occurred when the first ships from different countries arrived bringing many new things. How do you think the arrival of these ships influenced the lives of the people who lived in that small town? Write about the changes that may have occurred with the products that appeared, with the transportation used, and with the relationships between the people of that place and the places where the ships came from.
