Until the 19th century, for example, the urban center was the place where many workers lived, but over the years, this space has been transformed. The center became occupied by commercial and service buildings, while residential neighborhoods grew on the city limits. Culture and leisure also evolved, with the creation of new spaces such as parks, cinemas, and theaters. Considering these transformations, how do you think the daily life of children living in the city center 100 years ago would be different from the daily life of children living in residential neighborhoods today? Think about work forms, leisure options, and urban space organization.

The daily life of children living in the city center 100 years ago would be marked by long working hours in industrial and commercial activities, with little time for play and education, and limited access to leisure spaces. On the other hand, children living in residential neighborhoods today have a routine more focused on education and leisure, with less work, more time to play, and access to green spaces and recreational areas.

As crianças do centro da cidade há 100 anos provavelmente tinham acesso a uma grande variedade de opções de lazer, como parques e clubes sociais, e passavam a maior parte do tempo com atividades recreativas.

Há um século, as crianças que viviam no centro urbano podiam usufruir de uma educação formal e estruturada, com escolas e bibliotecas bem equipadas, o que não era comum nos bairros residenciais da época.

As crianças residentes no centro urbano de 100 anos atrás desfrutavam de um ambiente urbano mais seguro e planejado para o lazer, com espaços verdes e áreas de brincadeira, ao passo que as crianças de hoje muitas vezes brincam em espaços improvisados e desprotegidos.
