Mixtures: Introduction

Medium

(Originais Teachy 2024) - Question Medium of Sciences

Imagine you have a box with different types of grains: beans, rice, lentils, and corn. If you mix all these grains together in the box, they will form a mixture. But if after mixing, you can still see each type of grain separately, this mixture is called heterogeneous. On the other hand, if you mix some salt or sugar into water and, after stirring well, you can no longer see the grains, this mixture is called homogeneous. Think about these mixtures and write: How would you show the difference between a mixture of grains that is heterogeneous and one that is homogeneous? Explain how you could separate the grains from a heterogeneous mixture and the salt or sugar from the water in a homogeneous mixture.
