Simple Harmonic Oscillators

Medium

(Originais Teachy 2023) - Question Medium of Physics

A vinyl record rotates in a turntable at a constant speed of 45 rpm (revolutions per minute), so that a point on the edge of the record performs a Uniform Circular Motion (UCM). Suppose that connected to this point, there is a small particle that, as a result of the motion of the record, starts to perform a Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM) in a radial direction. Considering the radius of the record to be R, determine: a) the frequency in Hz and the period of the SHM; b) the relationship between the angular velocity of the particle and the amplitude of the SHM; c) the relationship between the acceleration of the particle in the SHM and the centripetal acceleration in the UCM.
