During the decolonization of Africa and Asia, the search for identity and territory led to migrations and displacements of populations. Political, economic, social, religious, and cultural aspects influenced these movements. The main forms of violence were political, ethnic, cultural, and economic, caused by power struggles, identity assertion, and resource disputes. To combat violence, it is important to promote dialogue and tolerance among groups, establish democratic institutions, implement policies for economic and social development, strengthen the rule of law and justice, and encourage international and regional cooperation to prevent and resolve conflicts.
