Action and Reaction Forces

Medium

(Originais Teachy 2023) - Question Medium of Physics

During a football match, a player applies a force to a ball to perform a pass. By doing this, we are applying Newton's 3rd law, also known as the law of action and reaction. (a) Describe how the law of action and reaction applies in this situation involving the player and the ball. (b) Now imagine that the player is moving with a certain velocity and applies this force to the ball, which is initially at rest. Explain how the player's velocity is affected after the pass, taking into account Newton's 3rd law. (c) Suppose the player applies a force of 200 N to the ball for 0.5 seconds. Calculate the acceleration of the ball during this period, considering that its mass is 0.45 kg.
