Definition of Fungi

Fungi are eukaryotic organisms that belong to the Kingdom Fungi. They are neither plants, animals, nor bacteria, as they possess unique characteristics that set them apart. One of their key roles in the ecosystem is the decomposition of organic matter, which helps recycle essential nutrients.
