(Originais Teachy 2023) - Question Medium of Physics

In a space trip, two astronauts are in their ships, initially stationary relative to each other. The ships have masses of 10,000 kg and 15,000 kg, and are separated by a distance of 500 meters. Initially, the ships are not connected to external engines. The gravitational attraction between the two objects will begin to cause them to slowly approach each other. Considering these data, answer: a) Calculate the gravitational force between the two ships. b) If both ships turn on the engines and exert an extra force equal and opposite to the gravitational force calculated in item 'a', what will be the resulting acceleration of each ship? c) Imagine that the distance between the ships is reduced by half, that is, 250 meters. How does the gravitational force between them change?

Question 1:

A satellite is orbiting the Earth at an altitude h including its mass m and its velocity v. Determine the expression for the gravitational force acting on the satellite as a function of the given variables, and consider that the gravitational constant is G and the mass of the Earth is M. Which of the following expressions correctly represents the calculation of the gravitational force?

Question 2:

In an amusement park, there is a famous ride called the 'Free Fall Tower', in which visitors experience the sensation of falling under the exclusive action of gravitational force. The tower has a height of 50 meters and the platform on which the visitors are seated descends in free fall from the top. The acceleration due to gravity is equal to 9.81 m/s^2. Considering this information, answer: a) What will be the velocity of the platform when it reaches the ground? b) How long does it take for the platform to reach the ground from the moment it is released for free fall? c) If it were possible to install a damping spring at the end of the course, what should be the elastic constant (k) of that spring for the platform to come to a complete stop 1 meter above the ground? Consider that the total mass of the platform with the visitors is 1000 kg.
